Growing a baby is a full time job! Sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves because we are also taking care of a family and or working another job! It is my job to make sure you are keeping up with nutrition and exercise and also becoming educated on your new journey as a mother to be!

Child birth classes
There is so much information out there about child birth! it can be very overwhelming…. My job is to educate you on relevant, evidence based facts and answers to all the questions that come with motherhood! Please feel free to ask, there is no such thing as a dumb question! Classes are offered in a group setting as well as privately in the comfort of your home
Breastfeeding and post partum support
Getting that “perfect latch” is not easy! It is possible to get it with the right techniques and support. Breastfeeding itself takes commitment encouragement, and I can provide that and much more… In the 4th trimester, if you need another pair of hands and eyes; I’ve got you!! Pregnancy Health
Prenatal visits are encouraged during the developmental stages of your baby. I take the time to address your physical and emotional needs to ensure that your prenatal experience is one that you'll enjoy.
Postpartum and Newborn Care
To ensure that you receive the best possible care for you and your newborn baby, I will stay in close contact with you after your birth to provide support, assist with breastfeeding, and answer any questions you may have. All of these services can be provided to you in the comfort of your home. My goal is to stay connected with you for a healthy development.
Child birth Education
My hands-on curriculum has been proven to put first-time and parents of multiple children at ease. I give the details on all aspects of labor, post partum, breastfeeding and CPR basics in ONE class! Take advantage of this bundle that is not normally offered all at one time! **Snacks are also included**
SLeep training & infant development
It is possible to get more sleep in the early months of motherhood! I can assist in sleep training (at night) as well as developing an age-appropriate routine for your baby to know the ques of what is next in their day and night routine. Babies are VERY capable of understanding what is expecting from them and can absolutely benefit from a consistent schedule.

My name is Kourtney McGowan and I have been a certified doula since 2018 but have assisted in births since 2004! I am originally from California and have worked in Orange county, LA county, Bay Area and Texas! I have also taken midwifery courses and have some experience in educating clients and doulas from a more clinical background which has helped m clients and colleagues understand where they stand when it comes to lab results and post partum depression.
I am now mentoring and educating other doulas virtually about Black Maternal Health and plan to continue raising awareness anyway that I can. My passion is educating my community and assisting mothers at the most vulnerable time-child birth! I to am I mother and know how important it is to create a great start for a growing family…
